What is Harmony4Women?

Harmony4women is an educational, non-auditioned, benefit chorus that performs once a year to raise awareness and funds for four nonprofit organizations that serve and educate women and girls. Funds raised from this unique event are divided equally between the nonprofits so they can continue to develop their individual programs.  Since 2009 Harmony4Women has raised $170,000 and taught over 550 Central Oregon women and girls how to sing and perform acappella music.

Who We Serve

Harmony4Women

-Facilitates the building of community among women
of all socio-economic and educational backgrounds.

-Fosters cooperative working relationships and synergy
between four non-profit organizations that serve women and their unique challenges
and needs.

-Brings the largest ensemble of women
from our six surrounding cities onto one stage to celebrate a journey rich in
possibility.

A Cause Worth Celebrating

After our year-long effort to address the difficult, complex and seemingly insurmountable issues women face daily in Central Oregon, Harmony4Women–in collaboration with three non-profit organizations, our volunteers, supporting businesses, and our singers–produces what is in fact one of the most enriching fund-raising concert experiences in the region.  This event is a celebration of that journey.

We Sing For Our Sisters.

The Benefitting Non-Profits

AAUW

Since 1881, The American Association of University Women (AAUW) has been the nation’s leading voice advancing education and equity for women and girls through advocacy, education, philanthropy, and research.  AAUW offers grants and awards, nationally, and the Bend Branch, founded in 1931, gives scholarships to COCC students continuing their educations in a 4 yr. program, through their Charles and Helen Weil Scholarship Fund, and it offers middle school girls an introductory program in STEM fields, science, technology, engineering and math, toward preparing them for careers in these fields, in partnership with the Girl Scouts of America.

Soroptimist International, founded in 1921 for business and professional women, is a global women’s organization whose members volunteer to improve the lives of women and girls in local communities and throughout the world.  Locally the group supports projects including a Community Baby Shower for low income families, hats, gloves and “soap bunnies” for Head Start children, support of local shelters housing women and families, advocacy and support for victims of human trafficking, and economic project support, such as “Bras for a Cause”.

Bella Acappella Harmony Chorus is an educational performing chorus that teaches vocal production, acappella harmony, singing, stage presence and performing to Central Oregon women and girls.  Under the direction of award-winning Connie Norman, Bella Acappella is the nucleus of the Harmony4Women sound.  Bella members serve as mentors to the community singers, providing support and encouragement and helping them have a positive memorable experience on stage.  Facebook | Bella Acappella Harmony
